Does the padding inside my old stove have asbestos?

I rent an apartment and I am afraid my Landlord will not want to spend money on a new stove, because it is in GOOD working condition. BUT.....where the hinges of the stove open white fiber glass cotton looking stuff is starting to stick out. And I am afraid ti might contain asbestos. Do you think this could have asbestos in it? My stove is aprox 30 years old and the brand is "Brown" thanks for your help.
