First, how do you know that there is asbestos in your attic? Why is it there? What form is it in? If there is asbestos in your attic it has to be removed by a certified removal company. Second, it will not make you sick. The only thing that asbestos causes is lung disease. It is normally not instant, it develops over time ending in lung cancer and death. However, the asbestos has to be airborne to be ingested into the body. So just having asbestos in the attic not being disturbed would not be a problem. Unless the house is really old it is probably not asbestos.
