Will I be subpeonaed?

My father married an actual prostitute after he divorced my mom. He died a few years ago and she's trying to get an asbestos settlement for his death as he had lung cancer. She is claiming that all the money from the settlement should be hers as my father supposedly died intestate. Apparently the law requires that his children all sign off on the dispersement to her and I am the only one who has not signed off and I don't intend to. Every now and then I get a certified letter note in my mail box. It says it's from the court of common pleas in the whore's county several states from my home. I don't pick up the letter because I'm afraid it will be a subpeona. Is that out of the question? What must those letters be?
